Lynnmere Trail is part of Wildwood Park in Thousand Oaks and is an up and down mainly singletrack trail. If you do the trail the whole way it's a little over 5 miles but there are ways to branch off the trail a little to extend your ride. You can even take a turn and end up on the Lizard Trails deeper into Wildwood. This trail doesn't seem to get a whole lot of use but you will come across hikers and other bikers. The trail may also be accessible to horses but it doesn't appear to get much horse use so you shouldn't have to worry about too many ruts etc.

The trail has its share of curves and quick downhill runs although they are not too steep or too long. You will have to do some riding uphill as well so don't think you will be getting off easy. The uphill riding is pretty effortless except for one or two spots so most people shouldn't have any trouble tackling this trail. If you take the trail all the way to Valleyfield Avenue you will be in a gated community and may have a little trouble finding your way out. You can hop a wall or wait for a car to drive by and open the gate for you. Then of course you will have to take the streets back to your car assuming you know your way back. Or you can take the trail back to where you started and save the hassle.

Lynnmere Trail Review

This trail is pretty nice and has some fun parts in the form of quick singletrack but for the most part it is nothing exciting. It's more of something you would do for a quick ride or if you are in the area. It's still better than riding on your average fire road though, unless you are into that of course! Like mentioned above you will end up in a gated community if you go all the way to Valleyfield Avenue and then you will have to find your way out unless you go back the way you came. A good way to do it would be to ride to the end, turn around and then ride back and take a left into Wildwood and ride out from there especially if you would like to extend your ride a little bit.

The scenery along the trail is decent but you will see a lot of houses during your ride so you don't feel like you are out in the wilderness for much of the ride. There are also a couple of spots where you will have to do a climb or walk to get up the rocky hill. Then after that there is a rocky decent but it's nothing too difficult. Make sure to watch the video and decide for yourself if it's a trail you would like to try out.

There are a couple of ways to get to the Lynnmere Trail to start your ride. You can either start where you enter on Lynn Rd or connect into it from within Wildwood if you want to ride around there first. If you decide to start off of Lynn Rd then you can park on Avenida De Las Flores or W Sidlee St and ride over to the start of the trail. You can take the Lynn Rd exit off the 101 freeway and head east and when you get to W Sidlee St look to the left and you will see the beginning of the trail and it should be fairly obvious.
