The Los Olivos Dirt Club Trails are a trail system located on private land located just north of Santa Barbara, CA. The area encompasses 1200 acres of land with several different trails that you can ride on. Since its private land you won't have to worry about watching out for hikers or horses while riding and can just focus on your bike ride which is a big plus. There are several trails to ride including 12 miles of cross country trails, ranching roads and 3 downhill runs which vary in difficulty but none of them are too fast or steep or even too technical.

During the summer it can get pretty hot and dusty out there so be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen. One other thing to keep in mind is they do mountain bike races on these trails quite a bit so if you go on a race day you can most likely still ride but will have to watch out for the racers and pull over if you see one. To ride at Los Olivos you can either purchase a yearly membership for $300 for adults and $100 for children which gives you unlimited access and other benefits such as discounts at participating bike shops. Or you can do a day pass for $15 on the weekend and $5 on Wednesday. They are open Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Wednesday at 3 PM. During the summer they are open until dark on the weekends and you can camp for $15..

Los Olivos Dirt Club Review

If you are close by the Los Olivos Dirt Club Trails then you should go check it out since it's a quiet place to ride and there are some technical areas you can get some practice in on as well. If you live far away then it may not be worth the effort since trails are your average mountain biking trails and the downhill runs are very short and not too steep or fast. There are some man made jumps etc. on the trails but they are not too exciting and don't seem to flow too well. If you were to spend some time on them you would most likely be able to get the flow down and have more fun with them. During the summer it's very dry and dusty but after some rain when the hills are green it's a more pleasant place to ride. The people who run the place are very nice and helpful so if you do end up going there you won't be totally lost. It would be a good place to take the family for a day of riding.
