PUSH Industries Suspension Tuning

PUSH Industries Suspension Tuning
With today's mountain bike suspension getting more and more advanced and there being so many options to choose from, sometimes it can be difficult to find the suspension component that's right for you. And obviously you can't just go buying new forks and shocks just to try out something new unless you have way too much money in your bank account. Plus suspension manufacturers need to design their forks and shocks to suit a wide variety of people and can't tune them specifically for one type of rider or that persons riding style.

If you have a decent quality fork or shock that is not quite doing the job for you no matter how many adjustments you make then you may want to consider having it rebuilt with a custom tune based on your riding style, weight and terrain you ride on. This is where a company like PUSH Industry comes into play. PUSH has been around since the early 2000s and is based in Colorado and not only do they do suspension tuning, then also design and build their own suspension components. One of their biggest suspension projects is their ELEVENSIX Shock which they designed themselves and build onsite.

When it comes to tuning PUSH does a great job because all they do is suspension so they have many years of experience and research behind what they do. They even include some of their own parts like their Ultra Low Friction (ULF) seals on their rebuilds to improve performance even more so. When rebuilding a fork they will completely disassemble it and inspect it for damage or wear and then give it a thorough cleaning. Then when putting it back together they will tune it based on how you want it to perform. They will adjust things like compression, rebound and spring system based on the information you give them on the form you send in with your fork or shock. So if you tell them you want to do downhill riding and be able to take big drops or jumps they will tune it to do so. Keep in mind that you can't send in a 4 inch travel XC fork and have them dial it in for downhill riding but they can set it up to perform better on rocky terrain if that's what you ride your bike on. They can also swap out parts like springs or air pistons to customize your suspension even more.

The cost of these rebuild will vary depending on what you have done and what type of fork or shock you have rebuilt. Expect to "fork" out anywhere from $200 to $350 for the service but you will be happy you did because it's cheaper than buying a new fork or shock and it most likely will outperform a new one. You also need to make an appointment for service since they are very busy but their turnaround time is pretty quick. Plus you will have to ship your fork or shock in to them plus pay for shipping back to you but it's not very expensive. To get things started all you need to do is fill out the suspension tuning rider form and send it in with your fork or shock. It's best to call or email them first to get your appointment setup and make sure you suspension is something that they can rebuild to begin with. For some proprietary suspension they won't service it and if you have modified it yourself then they won't touch that either. Check out their website for more information.
